Statement of Faith
As part of the larger Body of Christ on earth, we believe in both the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed. As a church, we believe that:
God has revealed himself to be the living and true God, perfect in love and righteous in all His ways; one in essence, existing eternally as the three persons of the Trinity: Father Son and Holy Spirit.
God, who discloses Himself to mankind through His creation, has spoken in the words and event of redemptive history. This history is fulfilled in Jesus Christ, the incarnate Word, who is made known to us by the Holy Spirit in sacred Scripture.
The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God, and therefore, completely trustworthy and without error in all that they affirm; the expressed revelation of His will for the salvation of mankind, and the final authority for all Christian belief and practice.
God freely created man and woman in His own image, as the crown of creation, that they might have fellowship with Him. Being tempted by Satan, they rebelled against God, resulting in spiritual and physical death. Estranged from their maker, yet responsible to Him, they became subject to divine wrath.
The eternally pre-existent Son became incarnate by the Holy Spirit without human father, being born of a virgin, Mary. Thus, in the Lord Jesus Christ, divine and human natures were perfectly united in one Person. To accomplish salvation, He lived a sinless life and died on the cross as the sinner's substitute, giving His life for the forgiveness of sins. On the third day, He rose from the dead in the body which had been laid in the tomb. He ascended to the right hand of the Father, where He performs the ministry of intercession as our mediator and advocate. He shall come again, personally and visibly, to complete His saving work and to fulfill the eternal plan of God.
The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to convict men and women of their sin, to regenerate the believing sinner, and to indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.
The true Church is composed of those persons who have repented and trusted in Jesus Christ for their salvation and, thus, have been spiritually reborn, being united together as the body of Christ, of which He is the Head. This universal body is expressed through local churches, which, by the gifts of the Holy Spirit, carry on the work of Christ in the world.
God's redemptive process will be brought to completion by the return of Christ, who will raise the dead, bringing the believer into everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and the unbeliever, along with the satanic principalities and powers, into judgment and eternal death. Then shall the eager expectation of creation be fulfilled and the whole earth shall proclaim the glory of God who makes all things new. Praise the Lord!
