Diakonos

Each year, the church nominates people to be part of the Diakonos Group.   Individuals make a commitment for at least one year to meet monthly with members of the Pastoral Leadership Team and work on the goals below.  In the second year, Diakonos members may specialize and begin working toward membership on either the Preaching Team or the Pastoral Leadership Team.

Our Goals:

• We as individuals will deepen in both experience and understanding of our relationship with Jesus Christ.
• We will be a loving community for each other, supporting and challenging one another in real ministry.  We understand that some need support in current ministry situations and some need the challenge of new ministry.
• We will use spiritual readings and exercises, and draw on the wealth of life experiences of each other as we learn about principles of authentic ministry.
• We will begin to share pastoral duties of Church of the Savior allowing those who are so led to assume some of those duties including visiting those in need, supporting Life Care Teams, mentoring, planning and leading special services, and preaching.
